The Travel Edit: Noa By the Beach | Noosa, Australia
Nestled amidst Little Cove and Noosa National Park with only moments from the beach sits Noa By the Beach. Designed by interior designer Georgina Price in collaboration with Belinda Ward, Noa By the Beach is a beautiful boutique holiday home, delivering a contemporary coastal luxe feel for homeowners Debbie and Wes and their guests.
"Noosa and the surrounding areas hold a special place in our family as my husband grew up on the Sunshine Coast. Prior to owning this property, we spent a lot of time in Noosa as a couple and then as a family," shares Debbie. Together they wanted to recreate the same relaxed upbringing that was nostalgic of their childhood spending time at the beach and playing in the garden outside. Their work commitments in Singapore and living in a rented apartment overseas highlighted how important it was for their children to share the same upbringing as they did. As Debbie illustrates, "we both felt this was something our children were missing out on, and we wanted an anchor for our kids to build a stronger connection with Australia and somewhere they could call home.

Noa was designed to bring family and friends together. Providing them with the luxury to slow down, unwind and relax in a beautiful space with awe-inspiring views. "We wanted a space large enough to bring our extended families together or have friends to come and stay without having to worry about space or being on top of each other," explains Debbie. In their initial design brief to Georgina Price and Belinda Ward, both Debbie and Wes were clear that this was first and foremost a home for themselves and secondary to this, they would use it as a holiday home. "So many features of the property were designed with our three young children and our extended family in mind," she says. Further explaining that a bunk room was essential which fits all three kids, a separate media room with toys and a TV for Debbie's 'sports-mad father.'

Noa cleverly features open-plan living with wooden casement shutters that open up between the lounge and media room with a straight line through to the kitchen. As Debbie illustrates, " we can enjoy a glass of wine in the living room or kitchen while still being able to hear and keep an eye on the children. Another essential aspect for Debbie and Wes was for them to be able to open the house and take full advantage of the mesmerising site that backed onto the Noosa National Park. "We used large glass sliding doors and custom vertical battens to allow natural light to filter in from a high level and air to flow through the house while retaining privacy," she says.

Noa embraces a crisp neutral interior palette with natural textures, creating a sense of calm from the moment you step in the door. This wondrous palette instantly captivates your eye and allures you to the picturesque backdrop of the leafy Noosa National Park. Debbie explains, "since our home is close to the beach and the Noosa National park, we wanted nature to be the focus of the property. We also wanted these earthy tones and materials to soften any of the existing features of the house, such as the wooden beams and black aluminium window frames."

"Noa By the Beach is the perfect location for our kids to reconnect with nature," they share. With only a ten minute walk from Main Beach and Hastings Street, Noa is the type of place where you can leave the car in the garage the entire holiday and walk to all amenities. "It suits our family perfectly as my husband loves cycling and surfing, our three girls love swimming and going for walks, and I love running along the coastal paths of the Noosa National Park," says Debbie.
